About the trek
Perched at a towering height of 14,245 ft above sea level, the spectacular Indrahar Pass lies at the border between breathtaking Kangra and Chamba districts. Though a short one, this trek is considered to be a bit challenging as the trekking trail consists of numerous sharp ascents and steep climbs. This is one of the most fascinating treks that Himachal has to offer. Owing to the magnificent view of the might Dhauladhar, the lush green valleys, and the exotic flora and fauna will truly leave you awestruck. The path passes by the placid crystal blue waters of Lake Mankiani and Kareri. Hike through the steep passing mostly through the lush green landscapes of the Dhauladhar Range, this challenging yet tempting trek takes about 4 days to complete.

How to reach:
Mcleodganj lies at a distance of around 500 km from Delhi or about 250 km from Chandigarh. You can either reach by your own car or by using public transport such as train, bus or air.
The best option to reach Mcleod Ganj from Delhi is to catch the overnight Volvo of either HRTC or HPTDC. There are other private operators as well that run buses between Delhi and Dharamshala in the evening.The second and the cheapest option but a hectic one to reach Mcleod Ganj or Triund is to travel by train. One can take a train to Pathankot which takes around 6-7 hours.
Indrahar Pass Trek Itinerary
Trek from McLeod Ganj to Triund
This exciting trek to Indrahar Pass will begin with a trek through one of the most popular trekking routes in Himachal Pradesh. Starting at around 9:00 AM in the morning, a 5-6 hours trek from McLeod Ganj will take you to Triund.
Spend some time at Triund top, capture some memories over there and then trek back to Mana village for your overnight stay.
Trek from Mana to Ilaqa Got
The first phase of today’s trek will take you to the fascinating Lahesh Caves that are located at a height of 3,500m above sea level. It is always advisable to cross the cave during the early part of the day as by afternoon, the terrains, as well as the weather, might get a bit challenging and risky as well.
Trekking further, you will be passing through the Snowline Cafe and will reach Ilaqa Got, the final destination for the day after around one hour from the cafe. In case, you find it hard to manage camping ground in Ilaqa Got, you will be guided back to the caves; overnight camping will be inside the camp.
Trek from Lahesh Caves – Indrahar Pass – Ilaqa Got
Today will be the most exciting part of the trek as you will be trekking to the much-awaited Indrahar Pass! Today’s trek through the rocky terrains from Lahesh Caves will take you to the enchanting Indrahar Pass (4,300m).
Witness and enjoy the panoramic views of the Dhauladhar Range and other Himalayan peaks from the pass and start trekking back to Ilaqa Got for an overnight stay.
Trek from Ilaqa Got to McLeod Ganj
On the last day of the trek to Indrahar Pass, you will be following the trails you trekked on the first and second day.
A gradual trek of around 4 hours will finally take you back to McLeod Ganj.
With your arrival in McLeod Ganj, this amazing trek will come to an end.
